Who wants to keep living in the past. I want to know what light is he trying to shine by having his actions glorified. This man was dumb and ignorant, nothing like the man the smart itelligent GANSTA they portray him in this movie. Frank Lucas was dumb and illiterate, this life was granted to him because of the people he knew and who he was connected to. I’m just tired of hearing about ole ass gangstas that’s coming out of hiding after killing and ruining several families!! Are they trying to encourage our young men not to go that route or try harder at what they couldn’t finish!

  7. Dania Says:

These people out there doing this stuff need no encouragement. They will continue doing it as it’s the only life they know and probably just blame it on the fact that they believe they can’t do any better b/c of racisim. Puhleeze!

Blaming it on these people and rap music is just an excuse.

  8. fiddy Says:

I’m not blaming anything on rap or a retired gansta, but everyone is talking about Frank Lucas like he was some super hero and I believe it relects on our kids who see these movies, who don’t have guidance and structure in there home. we as a people refuse to go forward. We try so much to be like the white man and how they idolized their fallen strret heroes, like Gotti! His grandchildren have a show, showing us all the luxuries that they have but how many lives were lost at the hands of the Gambino family. And believe it or not alot of these rappers do get some of there money from these mob figures,it’s called mob-investments! I know because I read, I don’t just let one story catch all of my atterntion, I want to know the truth! And yes, alot of our kids are very talented and with the pressures of living in proverty we face alot of different obsticles, and drug dealing is one of the first job alot of us had! Even if it was taking a bag of weed down stairs to one of your pops customers because he was chillin and didn’t feel like getting up!! I seen it all and live it. Why can’t we make some movies like “Pursuit of Happyness”. Positive role, something most black men can get something out of instead of trying the easy way out by robbing people or stealing from our own people to survive! we refuse to move forward!! Don’t noobdy care about Frank Lucas and what he has to say or Nicky Barnes. They did what all weak ass hustlers do when they are facung jail for life, Snith!! What is so great about that! I wish y’all stop interviewing these ole ass hustlers, drug dealing is played out!! Get a job!!

  9. Anonymous Says:

I agree with Dania. You don’t want kids to be influenced by these people but the greatest influence kids have is their parents. If their parents are all crying about racism, these kids grow up thinking there is nothing else out there to do but sell drugs b/c the white man might keep them down. Racism definitely exists but remember how your comments and reactions affect the thought process your children go through and stop blaming other influences.

  10. fiddy Says:

I Agree, like I said what about the kids that don’t have that strong singled mom, or the ones left with the grandmother because mom is on that shit and dad is unknown! We always have to think beyond ourselves when it comes to a family that is not as fortunate as the family that raised you. I feel privileged to be apart of a family that has intelligence, because we see famlies again again that follow right behind what they mommas do or they daddies or uncles. Say what ya want, but it’s more kids today being misled by someone on the street than the ones who try to stay right and live honestly. Like Biggie said, “Everyone wants to be a gangsta, nobody wants to die”. This including going to jail also! They will snitch or have a shoot out with the police,we see it evevryday in Philly!!

  11. Madallion Says:

‘I don’t even talk like this’
as far as making more positive movies based on african americans… you should know the answer to that all ready.. Hollywood won’t let that happen…
The only Positive Black Movie you named is the “pursuit of happiness” Starring Will Smith, the only reasons that movie was released are… he’s a former black rapper and super famous (captures the black viewers) and he’s a super rich black actor (captures the white viewers)… Now I know that seems short sighted but, hollywood is short sighted… The last reason is because it was good story.
Before the Movie is released or even made.. You have to convince the producer to pay for it.. then you have to convince the Caucasion film company…. Maybe i’m wrong.

Former Ceo and founder of BET Bob Johnson, Just opened up his own film company… So now you have to convince him and his staff to stray as far away as possible from the previous years of bets’ content, and only make positive movies full of empowering messages for todays youth and minorities as a whole, reason being, they’ll make a lot of money doing so… Last but not least.. you have to convince misled people to WATCH THE MOVIES.

Im so hood i wear my pant down to my knees ( so I cant get a job because im so hood) Im so hood that Ill always live in the hood!(the goverments plan to keep the black man down) glorify the hood! These rapper dont care one bit just another hustle feeding this stuff to keep us down. Drug dealers laundering money! Thats all it is! Look at BMF just one example. Some Black men dont care about another man just themselves. How will we ever truly come up?
