lukeAll these other R&B dudes need to start worrying because Luke James is about to stir up the game. With unmatched vocals and soulful energy, last night Luke shut down New York City’s legendary club, SOBs. Not only is James vocally remarkable, his taste level for music is evident and a true gem. He is one of the best songwriters out right now and knows exactly when and where to hit each note in his own songs. This was no ordinary SOBs performance, I have been to other shows at the venue, and none of them compares to the presence that Luke James ushered in Wednesday night. His dynamic stage presence and pure vocals set the tone early for the show as he opened with a cover of Michael Jackson’s “The Way You Make Me Feel” that would’ve impress the King himself. The set was a mix of a couple of song covers, which lead into him singing some of his more popular songs. He also performed his first official single, Options, off his long awaited first album, Luke James, that he says will finally drop September 23rd. Luke name is not new to everyone; the New Orleans bred singer has been working towards his first release for some years now. Along with writing for many artist like Chris Brown, Britney Spears, Keri Hilson and Justin Bieber, his most notable act was being the opening act on Beyoncé’s Mrs. Carter World Tour last year. Since touring with Yoncé his popularity and fan based has jumped tremendously and is now finally ready to release his own CD. The fan base was strong at SOBs, as the show was sold out and packed from the front to back. Many of his fans also admire Luke for his personal style and needless to say he attracts some pretty stylish fans. Check below for more photos of the Luke and the crowd style from the show.
