What’s The Verdict On Sarah Palin’s RNC Speech?

Thursday, September 4th, 2008, 1:30 pm

Did you catch Sarah Palin’s speech at last nights RNC? It was surprisingly a well put together speech where she challenged the media, and slammed Barack Obama’s criticism of her inexperience. How do you feel about Palin after last night?

Here is some of the speech:

all white people wanna do is fight and war.
    fuckin savages!

  2. NYC2308 Says:

She did a good job. I was impressed.

  3. Fresh* Says:

Loved it, loved it, loved it…

  4. Dom Says:

Personally I found it boring and contrite. She damn near put me to sleep. Even though she talked for over a half hour, all she did was a family introduction and shout outs to folks in the audience, talk about drilling in Alaska, and John McCains war experience. Oh yeah, and she took more than a few shots at Barak ( and I hope to HELL he finally grows to Michelle Obama-Balls and comes back with both guns blazing!)

She should have been trying to convince America why she’s more than a trophy candidate for the McCain ticket. Talk about the economy, talk about Foreign policy, talk about what your going to do for the country.

  5. nujerudevil Says:

aleis…why are you always the black militant??

  6. Dania Says:

I honestly didn’t care for it. I wasn’t impressed. I’m still trying to figure out how the hell she got that nomination. Give me a break!

  7. aleis Says:

    cause i wanna be.

  8. www.soulink.net Says:

she should have spent more time telling us why she should be vice president and not focus to much on obama .

  9. Chun Says:

It’s kinda funny, because I didn’t hear her mention healthcare one time in that speach. She is funny and amusing but not presidential.

  10. Anonymous Says:

it was alot of attacks…but NO sunstance. after the speech i still dont know where she stands on any of the issues……

  11. Un-Impressed Says:

I thought it was condescending, filled with insults and light on substance. We still don’t know how her vice presidency will move the country forward. She came off as a self-righteous person who would have absolutely no problem lying to the public.

  12. BK_LADY Says:

Nothing like a vicious woman…..she had some good jabs at my main man OBAMA ‘08 (GET OUT & VOTE)! But she is merely a pawn in the old boy’s club……they are going to use her to take the cheap shots at Obama, she will be the one to come out swinging, while OLD azz…oops I mean McCain will take the more political/safe aka TWO FACED WHITE DEVIL approach (did I say that out loud?). Once this is all over and Obama wins, the old boys club will turn thier back on Palin and reinforce the belief of keeping women out….they’ll say SHE was an embarassment to the republican party…..with the knocked up under age and unwed daugher and that she ran a dirty campaign against Obama….which was not what they wanted. Afterwards, they’ll banish her back to that no man’s land….ALASKA. Smarten up Pawn…ooops I mean Palin.

  13. observant Says:

i was impressed. i watched her last night and she shared her experiences as a mayor and a governor who had to make decisions on a daily basis that affected the lives and welfare of large groups of people. she also pointed out rightfully that obama hasn’t done those things, and she didn’t have the luxury of just voting “present” like he did in the senate; she actually had to make decisions.

she also let everybody know that she’s a fiscal conservative who cut out all kinds of unnecessary spending while in office–even cutting out some of her own job perks like a cook and a driver. that’s just radical enough that she might be able to do some good with regard to out-of-control washington spending.

that said, i worry that even though she’s the mother of five children including a special needs child, she might be TOO fiscally conservative, cutting back on programs that give a jumpstart in life to those who need it most.

all told though, her speech is making me pay closer attention to everyone involved in this presidential race.

  14. Moe Says:

what about all the real issues we face in America?
Good speech, but it was just a speech and not exciting or inspiring and no real issues were discussed. She was just dissing Obama.
    BORING!
If people don’t wake the fuck up we’ll be in Iraq for 100 years, oil will stay up above $100 a barrel, gas will be over $4 a gallon, we’ll go to war with Iran, the rich will get richer, the poor will get poorer and the Republican lies will continue for anothe 4 to 8 years!

    WAKE THE FUCK UP!

  15. Sarah WHOOOO?? Says:

What did you love about that speech? The republicans couldnt stop talking about the experience of Obama, now they have a VP that has no experiance at all……………..? Explain that to me?
What is her political agenda? The independence of Alaska? How does she feel about her underage child, getting a bastard child? Isnt it a great sin for republicans to have a child outside of marriage? What are her values?

How can she Manage AMERICA if SHE CANNOT Manage her own CHILDREN??

  16. Anonymous Says:

I read alot of racism towards whites on these comments!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
    Obama has no experience!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  17. SoulOfOle Says:

I agree with aleis….. Basically all they care about is fighting wars and the “terrorist.” Making uninformed Americans afraid to live. I believe the majority of the world would vote for Obama if given the chance. Something’s Gotta Give….

  18. EnvyMe Says:

I watched her last night and all i heard was Obama bashing, her talking about her family and how she’s a hockey mom. I’m canadian and i cannot stand this woman or John McCain for that matter. John McCain is too damn old and i’m pretty sure he will die before the end of his term should he win. Last night, i didnt here anything about what she would do for your country. I didnt buy her damn stupid about how her son Track (yes TRACK) will be going to Iraq to serve his country. I looked at her and she looked str8 up like she was lying!!!! The Republicans are all about WAR WAR WAR and Obama bashing! Also, is it just me or the crowd was full of white people….and very old ones! SMH!

  19. Anonymous Says:

“How can she Manage AMERICA if SHE CANNOT Manage her own CHILDREN??”

Probably A Bill Clinton supporter!!!!!!!!! (Monica Lewinsky)

  20. Ayo Says:

There is alot of ignorant comments here. People talking about John Mcain is gonna die cuz he’s too old and bastard children…. you all need to do a little more research and back up your opinions if your going to make ignorant statements like these. If you don’t like America , then move!!!! Black or white.

  21. puleeze Says:

You all know and more about Jay-Z then the candidates running for president. Everytime a jay-Z post goes up you praise him like a God. You all fail to remember that Jay-Z grew his fortune starting from 1 brick of cocaine sold.

  22. Anonymous Says:

I usually don’t comment on blogs but I totally agree. How in the hell can she run a country when her daughter has pics all over the internet drinking illegally????

If she can’t control whats going on in her house, how in the f**k is she supposed to help lead the nation?

  23. Slim Says:

How can you say Obama has no experience? Do you think he got in the Senate by his good looks. He has just as much experience as anybody else trying to become president.

McCain is 72, why do we need someone that old to be are next president?
And why would you want a woman that can’t control her own kids to be vice
president. Thats going to be the same person that maybe will have to take over
one day. Obama has done just a much and probably more, just do some research
and you will see. John McCain is just a bitter old man that was a POW and now he
wants us to keep fighting this war for his pleasure.

  24. Dom Says:

    @ Observant

You say that Sarah Palin hashad experience governing large groups of people and that Obama hasn’t.
Do you mean the 7,000 people in Wasilla where she was Mayor, or all 683,478 people in the state of Alaska? The 47th state by population.

If my memory and research proove me correct, Obama is a Senator for the 5th largest state in the country, 12,852,548 people (c. 2007) to be exact.

Do more research before you start popping off “facts.”

  25. aleis Says:

i agree with most of yall :)
but the jayz one…thats like saying, america is ok…even though it was built on the backs of dead black slaves!
    one nigger at a time!
im not racist…(well for the most part anyway) my son mom is italian (that sounded cheap kind of…) but i do know that those with less melanin seem to want to settle everything buy fighting or going to war!
its like its a endless chance to bomb bomb bomb!
think about it, mccain has post war syndrome still!
look how upset he gets about things relating to war (even things not about war).
i can see him now, its time to fix our economy!
    bomb russia!
then all we see is light from missiles going to and from russia fuckin us up!

  26. $THEMAN$ Says:

Her speech was a huge laughing stock to me. It was a whole lotta nothing. And Sarah u are right on. She was tryin to be witty funny and a whole host of things, and i just didnt get it. First of all everything she talked about had nothing to do with how she better this country from its tormented state as of now. She left all of the important topics off the table. The economy? health care? foreign policy? did she discuss any of that? no !!!!!!!!!! wanna no why bcuz she along with the good ole republicans have no plans at all. This woman is strickly the republican pawn, and is just in this election to gain women’s votes. Notice how they kept on scrolling in on her baby and using the bay and her kids as props. I found that to be very distasteful. She has no experience whatso ever. She is just a normal woman that has governed her town which in no way shape or form prepares her to become ready to take one of the most powerful positions in this country. She was so busy tryin to attack Barack that she lost the point of why she was there to speak. Alot of the time she looked unsure and very hesitant of herself, and why the republicans are goin around as if she hit some milestone homerun is just far beyond belief. She gave a speech and ok, but it lacked substance. Furthermore, it seems as tho she has become bigger than McCain at this point. All the focus is on her while he is layin low. He knows he isnt popular with the country so he’s tryin to use his pawn for the emotional vote. Bottom damn line McCain’s policy’s are his policy’s, and that will not change. This woman needs to go back to her small town and govern that cuz she has no place in office, looks at her kids drinking underage all over the web how the hell can she defend that. Her household is out of control. Her speech was a bunch of flutter and she just doesnt fit the bill.

  27. WWW.KAEHOCK.COM Says:

Her speech was a good speech but not a convincing one. She is a good speaker but not a very charismatic one, and her speech was full of fear injecting propaganda just like the rest of the republicans preach. It was more about her family and what she has done. She mentioned some things she wanted to do, but nothing on the issues that are important to the people most. Overall, the convention was a “calling white America” gathering. I spotted about three black people in the audience. It was mostly middle aged white people, as opposed to the DNC which was an audience of all colors, ages, sexes, and creeds. The RNC is Wack with a capital WACK.

  28. Spicy Goddess Says:

She need to go sit her ass down somewhere, I wasn’t feeling it!

  29. Anonymous Says:

america wasn’t built it was stolen as was the 2000 elections anyone with that kind of paper can not have the working class on the brain. Her speech should have been more about what she can offer us, instead all we got was a woman tooting her own horn I hope she is for family values with her unmarried mother-to-be daughter before you talk about anyone else for any reason make sure your shit is tight…..

  30. Anonymous Says:

I was not impressed. The state that America is in is not a laughing matter. All of the joking, bashing, and criticism did not cover the fact that she told nothing of her views and what she intends to do to help McCain. I didn’t hear how her experience will help our nation all I heard was I want to help America shoot I recycle I want to help America too!! The scandal that this woman holds from her children to eithcs issues is overwhelming the republican campaign. This woman was a former beauty quees OF COURSE she speaks well and looks poised she is a public speaker for goodness sake. I am an independent I vote for who is most relatable and who addresses the issues that I see as issues. Just because your daughter is one of the thousands of teens that get pregnant each year does not mean I can relate to you. And using your sons disability as a pawn for people to understand where you are coming from is disgraceful. I agree that she read a well written speech that was prepared before she was even announced as the VP pick. Maybe that’s why it contained no substance. I think this woman has set women back as a whole. The pretty face, child bearing woman who is a pawn in the game and knows she is. Funny how just a few months ago she said she would NEVER leave her little town as governor to be the VP.

  31. Anonymous Says:

I really didn’t understand her speech or the other’s before her. They kept on talking about McCain’s war record, but is he the first POW to go through being captured and detained? Palin speech didn’t present any of her own personal views and why she meets the qualifications to be vice president of the United States. It just seemed like i was watching a KKK ralley with a couple of minorities mix in there for color. The sad thing is that the Republicans feel that they have done a great job the past eight years but what have they accomplished? 1 war + fiscal deficit + declining economy + forcloser rates sky rocket + gas prices boom + 911 and Katrina + scandles + no respect from other countries + and a dumb ass president for 8 years = Priceless!!!!!!

  32. aleis Says:

  33. TerMA Says:

Ayo, you said it best. All these people on here making outrageous comments and statements that they have no idea if it’s true or not. They’re not doin any research and backing up all the shit that they say about mccain and republicans. They are just saying shit just to say it. Get your facts straight.

  34. Ant Says:

I could care less about her daughter, her daughter’s baby, or her daughter’s boyfriend. I could care less about her being a hockey mom. I also could care less about McCain’s war record. The convention is a chance to tell why your stance on issues is superior to that of your opponent and she did not do that. She used her time to talk about her employment history and to bash Democrats and Barack Obama.

America, regardless of which party wins the election, will still operate as one country. For one of the potential leaders of the country to spend a half hour talking and not mention health care, or the words middle class, is astounding. Instead she used her time to spit on the democratic nominee and all of his supporters.

Her family isn’t the issue, social class isn’t the issue, party affiliation isn’t the issue. The fact that she left so many issues unaddressed is the issue. She in no way proved she was more qualified to lead than the Republican’s say Barack is.

This wasn’t a pep rally it was the Republican National Convention.

  35. $THEMAN$ Says:

^^^ ur the 1 without any facts, everyone elses facts are being stated.

Speaking of experience this woman has none if any at all, what has she done besides run her tiny town. its great that she did that. but still that is totally different from running an entire nation. this seems all but to much for her to bare. and lol at the republicans calling Barack out on his experience when they just go out and pick up some random that no one has ever heard of before. Implus, McCain has no experience either, notice how they keep focusing on what he did in war, but never anything he has done to help move this country forward. i find that quite laughable altogether, and so is McCains whole VP running mate.

  36. Anonymous Says:

OBAMA IS A SMOOTH TALKER WITH CHARISMA
HE IS NOT THE BEST CANDIDATE FOR PRESIDENT OF THE GREAT UNITED STATES
THE ONLY DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SARAH PALIN AND OBAMA IS THAT ONE IS BLACK ONE IS WHITE ONE IS MALE AND ONE IS FEMALE
ALL YOU DELUDED OBAMA/DEMOCRAT GROUPIES NEED TO FACE THE FACTS

  37. DrCal Says:

I want McCain and Palin to win soooooo bad. I have developed such a dislike for the average american that I wanna watch this country fall and watch all those morons who vote for them drown in its misery.

  38. aleis Says:

    ^ some times i feel like that^ :)

i would have moved by then but yeah :)

  39. WAKE the F%ck Up PEOPLE Says:

BLACK WHITE ASAIN AND LATINO PEOPLE ARE LOOSING THIER JOBS, HOMES, AND CHILDREN ( TO A WAR ABROAD AND A WAR IN THR STREETS), THE US DOLLAR IS NOT WORTH ISH, GAS IS HIGH AS HELL, HOMELAND SECURITY MY AZZ DO YOU FEEL SAFE AND SECURE? GO HEAD I’LL WAIT…..IN THIS SPEECH THIS LADY DID NOT SAY ONE THING ABOUT WHAT SHE CAN BRING TO THE TABLE, WHAT ABOUT HEALTH CARE, WHAT ABOUT SOLDIERS COMING HOME WITH NO LIMBS AND NO FREAKIN BENIFITS, ALL SHE DID WAS BASH BARACK!!! ARE YOU SERIOUS? IF IT WASN’T FOR COMMUNITTY ORGANIZERS THERE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN A CIVIL RIGHTS, OR WOMANS MOVEMENT. PEOPLE WHEN YOU GO OUT AND VOTE ON NOV 4 REMEMBER THERE IS A LOT AT STAKE PERIOD. SO THINK BEFORE YOU VOTE

  40. mills Says:

I am a teacher in a New York City high school. My high school has more students in attendence each day, than live in the town Palin was mayor of.

  41. RedState Says:

Let’s just face it. Most of you fall at the feet of Obama and won’t hear any other side of any story. You will vote Obama just to spite what you believe is Bush and big bad oil. People who spend more time learning about the candidates rather than surfing this site will make the correct vote, which won’t be Obama in the end. Just a prediction. Obama isn’t doing anything to help the lower to middle class. He tax policies will only raise taxes. The fact that he says he will lower taxes doesn’t mean his policies will actually allow that. Just remember, the money the government needs to run comes from us, the tax payers. Or I should say from those of us who actually pay taxes. If a candidate promises to provide more of anything to people, there is a cost, which means more taxes. You can’t promise things like national healthcare, and say you are going to cut taxes. The math doesn’t work.
